ROSHEN Corporation has become a sponsor of the first modern theatre in Kyiv.
Thanks to initiative of the Department of Culture KMDA (Kyiv City State Administration) and financial support of ROSHEN it became possible to finally accomplish the reconstruction of the theatre on Podol, which lasted for almost 23 years. In November 29, 2016 the facade of the new building of Kyiv Academic Drama Theatre on Podol was presented to the public.
The entire cast and the artistic director of the theatre Vitaliy Malakhov are very excited and looking forward to the relocation to the new building. During the whole period of the reconstruction they had to rent other units mostly in Podol area, as the name of the theatre requires. Their performances easily play to a full house in Ukraine, Europe and the USA. The possibility to share their art with the spectators from their home stage will certainly become a new step in the creative development of the team.
After the opening, the theatre will be the most modern theatre in Ukraine. The design of the lobby and entrance considered the movement of the people flows at public events. The theatre has a very smart fire control system, including a water basin and pumps. The scene and the house of the theatre will become a perfect place for performances of the masters of the world stage due to the use of the most advanced technologies.
It is important to note that the renovated Kyiv Academic Drama Theatre on Podol will become the first in Ukraine fully adapted theater to people with special needs.
In total, the invertment to the project made up 165 mln hrn.
