About project

In September 4th, 2011 Vinnytsia held a solemn opening of the light and music ROSHEN fountain. The fountain constructed in the river of Southern Bug near Festivalny Isle (Campa Isle) has become the only multimedia fountain in Ukraine and the largest floating fountain in Europe.

In warm season the residents and guests of Vinnytsia have an opportunity to watch a marvelous performance for free. During the sho, powerful water jets are shot into the air accompanied by music and lighting effects, while a huge water screen displays video projections.

The fountain is a part of a complex project on reconstruction of embarkment near Vinnytsia Confectionery Factory ROSHEN. Under the project, they reinforced 700 m of the coastline, developed the pedestrian area and leisure zone, installed a street lighting system and built an amphitheater for hosting spectators of the fountain shows.

While most of the fountains are mounted in artificial water basins equipped with water-purification systems, a unique feature of the ROSHEN project lies in the use of “live” river water. To install the fountain equipment the riverbed of the Southern Buh was cleared in the volume of 28000 cubic meters. One more unique characteristic of the fountain is the “hibernation technology”, which allows lowering the construction under waters of Southern Buh and keeping it safe in winter.

ROSHEN Corporation didn’t only present the fountain to the city, but it also provides regular maintenance services, takes care of winter conservation of the fountain, prepares the construction for a new season in spring and of course, updates shows and creates new performances.
