Historical background
1929
Vinnytsia City Council approved a decision to establish a confectionery factory on the site of a former brewery. А range of sweets was rather limited: sugar coated caramel, gingerbread, biscuits, candy dots. The volume of production ranged from 2 to 5 tons per day, while a number of employees didn’t exceed 60 people.
1932-1933
Partial mechanization of production processes. The factory began to produce mint candies. During the World War II almost all factory buildings were destroyed.
1945-1946
In addition to the main production the factory also manufactured pasta products and gingerbread. Sugar products were manufactured on the stove in open boilers and pans. Caramel stamping was a manual process. The finished products were packed in cotton and paper bags and shipped to the store network.
1960
The start of a major reconstruction. A 3-storey building with caramel, sugar, toffee and semifinished departments constructed.
1968
A new 2-storey building for the packaging department was built. The factory started producing marshmallow
1977
The factory awarded the title of "High-culture production enterprise" for its adherence to high industrial standards and safe working environment.
1983-1991
The factory ranked among five best enterprises of Ukraine and USSR.
1991
The start of the decline in production and number of employees.
1996
Privatization of the enterprise. A nonprofit competition conducted for sale of shares determined a winner - a Ukrainian Industrial and Investment Concern.
1997
The Supervisory Council and Managing Board of VAT «VKF», a publicly held company under the laws of Ukraine, performed major repairs and overhauls of all factory departments; the entire label and packaging products upgraded in compliance with international standards.
2006-2007
The construction of a new 4-storey production facility, which housed a department on the production candies “Toffee”, wafers and wafer rolls, completed. On this occasion was made a wafer cake weighing 350 kg. The cake was listed in the Book of Records of Ukraine.
2010
ROSHEN established the children’s education and entertainment center at the factory.
2012
A department №5 on the chocolate production set up.
Nowadays
Today, Vinnytsia Confectionery Factory ROSHEN is one of the leading confectionery enterprises of Ukraine. The factory employs over 1 500 people. The modern highly-efficient equipment (of German, Italian and Czech manufacturers) allows producing 200 kinds of confectionery products, which totals over 100 thousand tons per year.
Vinnytsia Confectionary Factory ROSHEN is focused on the production of a wide range of sweets: chocolate, flour confectionery goods, and candies. Also, the factory produces more than 50 kinds of gift sets and more than 40 kinds of Christmas gifts, consisting of products produced by all factories of the Corporation. The range of chocolate products includes all kinds of classic chocolate (with and without inclusions), three kinds of aerated chocolate, chocolate bars with different flavors and inclusions, more than 20 kinds of hollow chocolate figures and chocolate with filling.
Flour confectionery goods are presented by different varieties of sugar and butter cookies, biscuit rolls, coated and uncoated wafers and wafer rolls.
Also, the factory has a wide range of candies. It is noteworthy that the factory uses multilayer candy casting technology by one shot and triple shot. The factory is the first one on the Ukrainian market that has released a "soft" toffee with various fillings and without. One of the achievements is the release of unglazed candies of a fudge kind named "Fudgenta" which have no analogs on the Ukrainian market. Vinnytsia Confectionery Factory ROSHEN has also mastered the unique technology for Ukraine of jelly sweets production. Thanks to this "Shalena Bdjilka" and "Soniachniy Zhuk” are on the market. The pride of the factory is boxed sweets "Strila Podilska" and "Ptashyne Moloko", which have been produced for many decades and have a big success among customers.
Vinnytsia Confectionery Factory ROSHEN is certified in accordance with the requirements of international quality standards ISO 9001: 2008 and food safety standards ISO 22000: 2005.
Every year thousands of schoolchildren and students have an opportunity to see the magic of the confectionery production by visiting the tour of the factory.
Biscuit Factory in Boryspil
By 2020, another factory of the corporation is planned to be open in the city of Boryspil, Kyiv region.

Kyiv ROSHEN Factory is the oldest among the other factories of the Corporation. Its products are recognizable worldwide.
