Vinnitsa Confectionery Factory

Vinnitsa Confectionery Factory is one of the five biggest Ukrainian confectionery factories. It was created in 1929, converted from Mr.Vahnevsky's Brewery. At first, production practices were based on manual labor and the factory employed about 60 workers. The initial product range consisted of caramel, spice-cakes, cookies and sugar drops.

In 1932 the technological processes were partly mechanized. However, almost all of the factory's buildings were destroyed during the World War II. Reconstruction started in 1944 and eventually led to the growth of production volumes.

In 1983 the factory produced 37,300 tons of confectionery. This high level of production remained unchanged until 1991. But the economic crisis and growing competition with foreign producers led to the need in substantial investments into equipment modernization and the introduction of new technologies.

A new line producing chocolate bars was installed in 1997 and the production of Luxe chocolate bars began. In 1999, Vinnitsa Confectionery Factory became the first in Ukraine to produce aerated chocolate.

In 2001, the factory installed a state-of-the-art, completely automated German line that produces glazed waffles and waffle cakes. In July, 2002, the factory started to produce Shtuchka chocolate and waffle bars and Shokoladny Zamok chocolate and waffle cakes.

At present the factory produces more than 100 kinds of confectionery, and its annual output is about 50,000 tons. Among its famous chocolate candies are Belochka, Krasny Mak, Kara-Kum; chocolates in boxes - Strela Podolskaya, Ptichye Moloko, sugar candy and a lot of other confectionery.

Thanks to the proficiency of Vinnitsa confectioners, the products of Vinnitsa Confectionery Factory enjoy consistent demand and popularity far beyond Ukraine.
